I’m currently setting up our second code jam at work.
I have proposed we write Wario style micro-games based on XNA.
The “logo” is a mash-up of stuff I found on the web (must add a reference, apologies to the author of the image and the font – will quote you once I have re-traced my steps).
(update, the image came from here)
Its been quite a learning curve for me – C# and XNA. Unlike our previous CodeJam (XML and transformations), this required me writing a framework to host the micro-games. Most of this work has been out of hours so I have neglected Moo
The “jam” is scheduled for this Friday. Will update this entry with more information after its conclusion (possibly with a download of the result!). Should be interesting, I purposefully choose a subject which would cause social interaction and fun, also there is a possibility people will collaborate across teams to share code.
My only worry is that the subject is more about social collaboration and enjoyment than technical know-how, this might be an issue – Time will tell…
Here are some images – Not all for copyright reasons – I’m sure we will infringe some if I put the pictures up!

The jam occurred today. I think it went really well, people seemed to enjoy themselves and humour was high all day.
Not sure if huge amounts of technical knowledge was gained except that for many the mental barrier to using XNA had gone and I’m sure people would consider using it more. To be honest seven hours is quite a small time period (especially, as some people had to learn C# at the same time!).
The final presentation went down well and it was genuinely funny and well received.
I will get the binaries up loaded next week. I see no reason why they can’t be public. Possibly add some screen shots for people who are unable to run .NET etc.
Time to chill.
Really looking forward to seeing what people came up with!
