As usual our summer holiday planning has been a disaster – Mainly due to my complete hate of air travel from an ecological and a personal “its a cr*ppy unsatisfying tedious and dull way of going from A to B” perspective. Needing a break we headed up to Crieff in Perthshire for some good old fashioned camping. We went with friends and including kids we totaled seven in all.
We stayed at Comrie Croft, I can thoroughly recommend it. There are options to sleep in a Kåta, the hostel and some other options which escape me at this point in time. We went for our own tent (borrowed).
Overall (ignoring the (small amount of) rain, which we did) it was great. Really relaxing. Its been a long time since I last slept in a tent (ok that was probably the worst part from a comfort perspective). Feel totally chilled but equally knackered, in a good way. Personal hygiene also needs attention – I sort of forgot what a shower was – Which is kind of the point?
Four days without thinking about computers and work – Bliss…
Here is a random picture of the associated countryside:

Is this spot the civilisation?
Glad you had a nice time. We’re thinking of going camping with the kids……should be interesting with a two year old!
Not sure if I would have tackled it with two year old children (from a relaxation perspective). The age range of the kids was 5-7, this seemed about right – In that we could let them run free (within reason).
Planning a Glastonbury trip in a year or two, may-be this would be a fine time for us to meet up again – Hippy Dads!!!
